Universal Language of Love and Play

Our hosts in Rovinj, Fausto and Izidora, have two lovely children about the same age as Dhyan and Arelia.  Adrian, 5 years old, and Lana, 7 years old, would play down in the courtyard while Dhyan and Arelia would look down and watch enviously, occasionally daring a, “Ciao!” or “Bok!”.  They managed to make a connection and even develop a relationship as the days went by until by the very end they were fast friends!  They all traded some toys and to see the raw joy of children at play, even though they couldn’t really talk to each other, it really drives home that hope we all have that we are all connected on some deep, basic level…the level of love.  Anna and I have had constant reminders on the importance of listening to the children and even though it’s so easy to get caught up in the responsibilities of life, let’s face it: the kids know where it’s at.  Their authenticity creates complete transparency and allows for no boundaries.  Our time in Rovinj was nothing short of magical and we leave a piece of our hearts there as we move on.
